Seafood Cheese Spread

Seafood Cheese Spread

“The fear of the Lord adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short. . .” Proverbs 10:27

Seafood Cheese Spread is a creamy spread that comes together in just minutes.  Perfect with crackers, bagel chips or any of your favorite dippers.

For years, I have been buying this really delicious cheese and seafood spread from our local grocery store.  It’s one of my favorite things they have there.

Then one day, as I was eating it with some crackers for a quick lunch, it came to me that I could make this cheese and seafood spread.  Of course, I would tweak it and make it my own and maybe make it even better.

How Did I Go About Making Seafood Cheese Spread?

The first thing I did was write down the obvious ingredients in the cheese and seafood dip.  The ingredients that I could see and then to taste.  Then I actually looked at all the ingredients posted on the container which was probably not a good idea because there were a lot of ingredients that I had no idea what it was.

After I did my research, I then wanted to make it more of my own and even better and with some trial and error, I found a spread that I think is pretty darn good.

My Take on the Seafood Cheese Spread . . .

Because this Seafood Cheese Spread is a simple but tasty spread, I didn’t want to go crazy on seasoning.  I just add some salt and garlic powder to the cheese mixture.  Anything else would overpower the rest of the ingredients.

Also, I decided to add cooked shrimp to the Seafood Cheese Spread.  I mean, it is a seafood spread…. 😆.  I like the texture and of course the flavor it added to the spread.

How to Serve the Seafood Cheese Spread

Seafood Cheese Spread would be perfect for an appetizer served with a variety of your favorite dippers.

I like it as a light lunch with some crackers.

However you serve it, it will be a sensation.

What Do I Need to Make Seafood Cheese Spread?

You will need a large mixing bowl, grater, mixing spoon, serving bowl, measuring cups, measuring spoons, cutting board and the following ingredients:

Mama Fawn’s Tips . . .

  •  It’s important that the cream cheese is softened to room temperature or it will not combine smoothly.
  • Depending how creamy you want your cheese spread is how much you mayonnaise you want to use.  I use the full cup.
  • You can find packages of imitation crab (surimi) in the seafood department in your local grocery store.
  • To cook the shrimp- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.  On a small baking sheet, add the shrimp and lightly season with salt and pepper.  Bake for 8-10 minutes.  Let cool before adding to the rest of the ingredients.
  • I use cheddar cheese in this recipe but feel free to use any type of hard cheese.
  • You will get the best flavor out of the Seafood Cheese Spread if you make this ahead of time before serving.
