Mama Fawn’s take on the TikTok rage with a flavorful sauce that will not only fill you tummy but will make your taste buds thank you.

First of all, Smash Burgers are all the rage.  I mean, I love hamburgers and the Smash Burgers look amazing.

What is a Smash Burger?

A Smash Burger is a hamburger that when it is cooking on a grill or pan it is flattened or smashed creating a crisp crust and yet still retaining its juiciness.

Why a Smash Burger Taco?

Why not a Smash Burger Taco?  I mean, if we are going to be honest, who doesn’t like tacos?  And of course, I absolutely love hamburgers so I think this is pretty perfect!

Not only are Smash Burger Tacos a mouthwatering dish, they are so quick and easy to prepare.  In minutes, you have a fun dinner or appetizer ready to go.  Add a side of salsa rice (search it on my blog) or french fries or eat them on the go.  However you eat Smash Burger Tacos, you will be very satisfied.

What Will I Need to Make Smash Burger Tacos?

You will need a small skillet with a lid, a spatula, cutting board, small mixing bowl, paper lined platter, a spoon and the following ingredients:

Mama Fawn’s Tips. .  .

  •   I use fajita size flour tortillas for this recipe but feel free to use whatever you have on hand.  Just keep in mind if you use a bigger tortilla, you will be making less tacos.
  •  By using a smaller size tortilla, you could make these as an appetizer.
  • Use whatever is your favorite salsa and heat.
  • For a spicier version of these tacos, substitute pepper jack cheese for the cheddar and top with jalapenos.
  • To keep warm, place in a 200 degree oven, uncovered.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef

  • 6-8 flour tortillas

  • 6-8 sandwich slices cheddar

  • Seasoned salt

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • ¼ cup salsa

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

Directions

  • In a small bowl, combine the sour cream and salsa. Refrigerate until serving.
  • Heat a small skillet on medium-high heat.
  • Divide the ground beef into 6-8 even portions. Smash one portion on one side of each tortilla, covering the whole tortilla. Generously season the ground beef on each tortilla.
  • In a heated skillet, add the tortilla, ground beef down and fry for 2-3 minutes. Closely watching to make sure it doesn’t overcook.
  • Flip the tortilla over with a spatula and add one slice of cheddar on the burger. Cover and cook for 1-2 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  • Lift the lid and fold the tortilla in half, making it a shape of a taco. Remove from pan to a paper towel lined plate and cook remaining tacos.
  • Top the tacos with shredded lettuce and the sour cream/salsa. Enjoy!
