Beer Cheese Bread

Beer Cheese Bread

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. . . ” Ephesians 1:3

Beer Cheese Bread is my take on the classic Beer Bread and Beer Cheese Dip.  A hearty but absolutely tasty bread that would be the perfect accompaniment to any dinner or get together.

At one of the Big Game parties, I decided to make beer cheese dip and homemade pretzel rolls.  I was disappointed with the pretzel rolls (probably should try to make them again) but was absolutely impressed with the beer cheese dip.  Then an idea came to me. Adding the cheese to the beer bread.  It was consuming my mind so I had to give it a try.

Why Beer?

I always believe beer bread is a combination of a yeast bread and a quick bread.  Of course, the yeast is from the beer that’s in the bread and it is so quick and easy to make. It literally takes minutes to prepare and you get a nice rise from the beer.

Not only do you get the yeastiness from the beer but it adds a unique flavor.  Trust me, I’m not a beer drinker at all, but this bread is the bomb.

What do you Need for the Beer Cheese Bread?

  •  Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Beer
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Butter

All you do is mix the ingredients, add it to a loaf pan, drizzle the butter and bake and voila!  You have yourself a nice loaf of bread.

Mama Fawn’s Tips. . .

  •  Whatever beer  you prefer, is the beer I would use for this bread.  I’m not a beer drinker so I used a common lager but feel free to use an ale, IPA, stout. . .
  • I prefer to not use the bagged shredded cheese in this recipe because I don’t feel it melts as well, but if that’s all you have, go for it.
  • Make sure your pan is well greased or parchment lined.
  • Let the bread cool for about 15 minutes before removing it from the loaf pan.
  • Slice the bread with a serrated knife.
