Honey Garlic Chicken & Broccoli

Honey Garlic Chicken & Broccoli

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. . .” Deuteronomy 32:4

Honey Garlic Chicken & Broccoli is one of those dishes that is quick and easy to make and so, so delicious.  It only takes minutes for you to prepare this dish and have it on your dinner table.

I actually thought of making this dish because I had leftover broccoli from a veggie platter and hated for it to go to waste.  I first thought of making a type of stir fry but I wanted to make something that would be even quicker to prepare so Voila!  Honey Garlic Chicken & Broccoli is the perfect dish.  Not only is it so easy but the flavor is perfect.

I have not always been a fan of rice wine vinegar because I think it’s quite pungent but it really works with this sauce and the honey brings it all together.

Of course, I think rice is the perfect side to go with Honey Garlic Chicken & Broccoli and my Coconut Rice would be even better.  It is so creamy and would add a next level of flavor.  Go to Lifewithmamafawn.com to my Polynesian Chicken & Coconut Rice for the recipe.

Mama Fawn’s Tips…

  •  Make sure your temperature is at medium heat.  This will give the chicken time to brown without over cooking.  It also helps the broccoli and garlic not to burn.
  • Beef or Pork would be a perfect substitute if you want something different.
  • Have all the ingredients ready to go, this dish really goes fast.
  • Feel free to substitute any fresh veggie that you would like.
  • Constant stirring will help everything cook through without burning.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Chicken Breast ,cut in bite size pieces

  • 1 ½ tbsp cornstarch

  • ¼ cup vegetable oil, divided

  • 2 cups broccoli florets, cut in bite size pieces

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 5 garlic cloves, minced

  • ⅓ cup honey

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar

Directions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the chicken and cornstarch. Mix well. Set aside.
  • Combine the honey, soy sauce and rice wine vinegar in a small bowl.
  • In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and allow to crisp, turning often until all the sides are golden brown and chicken is cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add 1 tbsp oil in skillet and add the broccoli florets and salt and stir often until the broccoli is cooked until desired doneness, 3-5 minutes. Move the broccoli to the side of the pan and add the remaining oil to the middle of the pan. Add the garlic and cook for about 1 minute, making sure the garlic doesn’t brown. Add the honey mixture and the chicken to the pan and simmer for about 3-4 minutes, evenly coating the chicken and broccoli.
  • Serve with rice. Enjoy!
