“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. . .” Colossians 3:13
Asian-Inspired Beef & Rice is actually inspired by a childhood favorite that is no longer around.
I loved Hamburger Helper Oriental Rice when I was growing up as a teenager. The thought of it brings me back to eating it with my family. For some unknown reason, Hamburger Helper doesn’t not make it anymore but have no fear, this recipe is pretty close. If I were to be honest, I think it may even be better.
I really love mushrooms and the addition to the ground beef really makes this dish quite savory. Adding the carrots, gives a little healthiness to the dish without your children snubbing their nose at vegetables.
One of the best things about Hamburger Helper is that you cooked it all in one pan and so it is with this dish.
If you want to make Asian-Inspired Beef & Rice vegetarian/vegan, omit the beef and double on the mushrooms. Instead of beef broth, use vegetable broth instead. Soy sauce is vegan friendly so you can keep it in the dish and it’s what makes it ‘Asian-inspired’.
Add some stir fry veggies or pot stickers to Asian-Inspired Beef & Rice and you have a complete meal.
Mama Fawn’s Tips. . .
- To make your dinner easier, purchase the vegetables already chopped.
- Have all your ingredients ready to go when you start cooking.
- Add ground chicken or turkey if you prefer.
- Do not lift the lid while the rice is cooking.
- If you are conscious of your salt intake, use low sodium broth and soy sauce and omit the table salt.
