Fried Artichoke Hearts are one of my favorite appetizers when we go out to eat. If it is on the menu, I will be ordering it. But to be honest, this is one of the easiest appetizers you could make and the Lemon Garlic Aioli makes it even more appetizing (pun absolutely intended 🙂 )
Using the marinated artichoke hearts give the appetizer a more in depth flavor. You can use regular artichoke hearts but make sure you season the flour very well or they will be blah.
I also love zucchini and I usually fry and bread some zucchini while I have the oil hot. Use the same ingredients (except for the artichokes) and technique and you can have yourself a batch of Fried Zucchini in no time. And the Fried Zucchini is just as delicious with the Lemon Garlic Aioli.
You may ask what actually is aioli? ….. It’s a fancy name for mayonnaise, usually a flavored mayonnaise, hence lemon and garlic.
You want to show off to your guest? Make this impressive but so easy appetizer.
Mama Fawn’s Tips. . .
- This appetizer taste much better by using marinated artichoke hearts.
- So easy to double or triple this recipe.
- Is the oil hot enough? Sprinkle a little flour in the oil and if it sizzles, it’s ready.
- I recommend you use fresh lemon juice for the aioli.
