Pizza Fingers

Pizza Fingers

” I saw that wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness. . . ” Ecclesiastes 2:13

Pizza Fingers are a fun way to eat pizza and such a bonus because it is almost effortless and absolutely scrumptious. I consider this recipe one of my “halfway homemade” appetizers.

Our family loves pizza….

That’s all I have to say about it.

Well, maybe not.

My daughter likes plain cheese.  PK will eat it with pepperoni and meatballs.  I like it that way, also.  I also like it with mushrooms and olives.  My son in law, Harrison?  Well, he’s quite adventurous in his pizza toppings.  He usually eats it with broccoli, spinach, artichokes and pepperoni.  And guess what?  I actually like it.  Add mushrooms and olives and I probably will love it.  Saying all that, you can pretty much add anything to your pizza.  Like I always say…’make it your own’.

French bread saves you so much time since you don’t have to deal with pizza dough and the pizza sauce is already prepared since you are using the jarred variety.  You can pretty much add whatever toppings you crave.

I have given you two different recipes.  One with a tomato based sauce and the second I use the base with garlic spread.  Both of them are so yum.  Because Pizza Fingers are quick to make, try both of them.  You will not be disappointed.

Garlic Cheese Fingers

Ingredients

½ loaf french bread

½ container garlic spread (I use Derlea Foods), room temperature

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ cup ricotta cheese

Salt for seasoning

Pizza sauce for dipping

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Slice the half loaf of french bread into half and then each slice lengthwise.

Spread the garlic spread on each slice of bread.  Sprinkle the mozzarella on the garlic spread.  Dot the bread with the ricotta and sprinkle with salt.

Bake the bread for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and browned on the sides.  Remove from the oven.

Let sit for 5 minutes before cutting the pizza into ‘fingers’. Serve with pizza sauce.  Enjoy!
