Biscuit Donuts are a very easy way to make donuts. In no time, you can have fresh donuts for the whole family.
Why Biscuit Donuts?
When I was little, I remember my mom making these Biscuit Donuts. I was always so excited when she would dip them in the cinnamon sugar and then let me have one. What great memories!
Doughnuts are loved by most. We have a couple of doughnut shops around here that people are waiting in line in the morning to get them warm and fresh but you don’t have to wake up at the crack of dawn to have delicious and fresh doughnuts. In about 10 minutes, you can have tasty doughnuts without even taking your jammies off.
I have two different ways you can dip your Biscuit Doughnuts but if you want to get real fancy, feel free to use the powdered sugar glaze I have at the end of the recipe. I also have a recipe for cinnamon sugar. I usually have a jar in my pantry so I use that, but making your own is super simple.
No matter what, you are going to love how easy and how wonderful these are to eat.
What Do I Need to Make Biscuit Donuts?
You will need a dutch oven, tongs, thermometer, plate, paper towels and the following ingredients:
Canned biscuits, vegetable oil, powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar.
Mama Fawn’s Tips. . .
- Biscuit Donuts cook very quickly, so keep a watch on them or they could get too dark very easily.
- Make sure your oil is at temperature before frying the donuts or you will have a greasy donut.
- It’s important to let your donuts sit on paper towels before covering them with your topping.
- Don’t throw away those holes! They are just as delicious as the donut themselves and fun for children to eat.
- You’ll want to eat the Biscuit Donuts right away while they are warm. That’s when they are the best.

Vegetable Oil (to fry)
Powdered sugar

Directions
- Heat about 2 inches of oil in a dutch oven at medium-high heat to 340-350 degrees.
- Scoop powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar on individual plates.
- Separate biscuit dough and flatten each one with the palm of your hand, making sure the dough is even. With a sharp knife cut a circle out of the middle of each biscuit, saving the circles to use as mini doughnut holes.
- When the oil is ready, drop (carefully) the biscuit dough in the oil about 3-4 at a time. You can also add the middle of the dough. Carefully watch the biscuit dough, brown both sides until they are golden, about 1-2 minutes each side.
- Carefully remove the doughnuts with a slotted spoon or tongs and lay on a plate lined with paper towels.
- Repeat with the remaining biscuit dough.
- While the donuts and holes are still warm, cover each donut with either the powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar. Enjoy!
Notes
